Owari is a vast polar landmass almost entirely buried beneath ice. Its southern edge forms an immense glacial shelf, broken by deep crevasses and sheer walls of blue-white ice descending toward the northern sea. The interior is a frozen plateau containing buried mountain ranges, subglacial valleys, and lakes sealed beneath thousands of years of accumulated ice.

 

Its climate is the coldest in the known world. Temperatures remain below freezing for most if not all of the year, while powerful winds sweep unhindered across the elevated interior. Snowfall is frequent near the coasts, although the deep interior may function as a polar desert where little new precipitation falls.

 

Owarii exerts a major influence over the northern climate. Cold air, sea ice, and glacial currents move south from its shores, intensifying Tundris’ winters and cooling the northern seas. Its immense ice walls and hostile interior would likely make conventional movement through the land nearly impossible. Any passage through Owarii would likely depend upon narrow coastal routes, seasonal sea lanes, or hidden corridors through the glaciers.

Not much is known about the landmass, but it remains the subject of mythology and legend for the people of northern Tundris.
